For sale a Streamlined Train named the Comet. It was built by the Zeppelin Goodyear Company in 1935 & ran up the East Coast from New York to New Haven & Hartford. This is a toy model in O gauge. Made from painted & machined aluminum. It was made by the Consoli Family Train Co. Tony Consoli had bought the Western Coil & Electric toy train company in the 1970's. The company had manufactured a Burlington Zephyr model during the 1930's. Tony started to reproduce this toy train manufacturing them out of his back yard in Wayne, New Jersey. These Zephyr reproductions are now very collectible today. Tony decided to add to his line of trains & using the same production methods he created the Comet, sadly only a very small amount were produced. This one has a number'2 inscribed. It is not as refined as a Lionel train, but still a very striking decorative model, almost 4 feet long, the train has a driver's cab at each end & has two electric motors. It runs on three rail O gauge track & has lights inside. If you wish to only display the train it can be lit up using a 9 volt battery connected to the track.
I have not tried to run this train, it is untested & I used a back light to show how it would look lit up. This is a rare train. Photos are part of the description please look carefully.
